Tree sale supports charter school: 'We want everyone to have as much cheer as they can'

SPRINGFIELD, Ore.-- For the second year in a row the Willamette Leadership Academy is selling Christmas trees to help raise money for the military charter school.

Students are getting help from staff and parents with the volunteer effort to help bring in funding for the charter school.

The farm-raised trees are donated by a Monroe man whose children attended Willamette Leadership Academy.

"We keep the prices low because we know Christmas is a really hard time of year for a lot of people and we want everyone to have as much cheer as they can," says teacher Katie Nunes.

The trees are being sold at the Moose Lodge, located at 2011 Laura Street in Springfield.

The vendor is opened from 9 am to 6:30 throughout the weekend, and weekday evening from 5-7 pm.
