Three arrested after dispute over purse full of drugs and money

      EUGENE, Ore. - Deputies arrested three people Saturday after a fight over a purse filled with drugs and money led to a man getting stabbed, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.

      The man who was stabbed, 26-year-old Faisal Alansari, driven to the hospital in a private vehicle and treated for his stab wounds.

      Witnesses say the incident started at around 10:40 a.m. when Alansari stole a purse from Vanessa Prodan, 25, near the intersection of Santa Clara Ave. and Quince Street. Officials said the purse contained drugs and money.

      Investigators found that Prodan and her companion, 27-year-old Daniel Grossman, confronted Alansari and the situation became physical.

      Alansari used pepper spray on at least one person at the scene and was stabbed twice by Grossman, according to the Sheriff's Office report.

      All three individuals were booked at the Lane County Jail on various charges.

      Alansari was charged with Theft 1, Robbery 3 and Unlawful Use of Mace/Pepper Spray.

      Grossman was charged with Assault 1, Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Criminal Mischief 2 and controlled substance offenses.

      Prodan was arrested on an existing warrant and charged with controlled substance offenses.
