EUGENE, Ore. -- Over the past few days the Eugene/Springfield community rallied to help pack an LTD bus to the brim with food and toys to help bring the holidays to less fortunate families.

After a successful drive, volunteers spent Sunday trying to "Un-Stuff The Bus" that was packed with donations for the Toys For Tots drive and Food For Lane County .

Brad Bassi, an official with Food For Lane County, told us the community response was overwhelming.

"When you see folks come out for an event like this, they took time out of their Saturday, they took money out of their tight budgets as well to make a donation for folks that really need the help," said Bassi.

Officials said that they collected 7,915 pounds of food and toys during the drive, surpassing the nearly 7,000 collected last year.

If you missed FFLC's Stuff The Bus campaign, Bassi said people can still drop off donations at their Food For Lane County location, or at the marked donation bins at area Wal-Mart locations.
