BROWNSVILLE, Ore. -- The family and friends of 16-year-old Caroline Huss are devastated after her tragic death in a car crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 228 outside of Brownsville.
Relatives say Huss was a talented singer, avid soccer player and a kind soul that brightened the lives of everyone she knew.
Caroline's grandmother, Jacque Fleming, says Caroline had her learner's permit and was driving with her mom to go pick up her brother. Fleming said Caroline had thought she saw a spider in the car and panicked.
"It happened so fast, and she went over across the line, and hit the tow truck," said Fleming. "Life is totally taken for granted, how quickly it can be taken away."
Caroline was pronounced dead at the scene.
Caroline leaves behind her single mother, who according to family was her best friend, and three younger siblings.
The family set up a fund at Key Bank in Brownsville and says that any support from their community would be greatly appreciated.
