High school senior accused of sex crimes, held on $1 million bail

EUGENE, Ore. - Police first arrested Elliot Thomas Cumer April 18 on charges he solicited minors to engage in a display of sexual conduct.

After a court appearance earlier this week, the district attorney brought additional charges against Cumer. Bail has been set at $1 million.

The 19-year-old Sheldon High School senior is now accused of additional sex crimes involving three underage boys.

According to the indictment, Cumer collected sexually explicit images of his victims on at least six occasions.

Prosecutors also accuse the Eugene resident of offering payment for sexual contact.

On April 25, the school sent a letter home alerting parents about the situation.

In it, the school's principal asked anyone with more information about the case to contact the school resource officer.
