5-year-old donates birthday money to local firefighters

EUGENE, Ore. -- Ethan Kramerberry just turned five years old. Instead of the usual wish list of toys made by most boys his age, Ethan asked that friends and family to help him support his heroes - the local firefighters.

All of his birthday cards brought in a whopping total of $68.00, which Ethan brought down to Fire Station 15 on 33rd Avenue. He then told the firefighters he wanted them to buy a "really big hose" with the money.

On Wednesday, the fire team wanted to thank Ethan for his donation by presenting him with a certificate of appreciation. They'll also be rolling out their 5-inch diameter hose, now stenciled with Ethan's name.
